Ane stool + Granta material Intelligence
The Ane stool was recently requested by Granta, a spin-out from the University of Cambridge developing resources to support courses on Product Design, Fashion and Jewelry Design and the way materials are chosen for them and of course t-bac was more than happy to oblige.
Qiuying Lai explained that the idea for the data base is to inspire students to think about materials in a freer, more intuitive way. By including images of iconic products, with a brief description and links to information about the designer and maker. That information is linked further to data-sheets for the materials of which the product is made (Granta has high-quality data sets for a very large number of materials).
