Troy Backhouse (t-bac) is an award winning, multi-discipline design studio based in Melbourne. With no signature style, in part due to being exposed to other cultures for a long period of time, inspiration is sought from unique and unusual places to enliven perceptions of objects around us.
Objects commence with inherent passion and curiosity to achieve a sense of individuality. They are then refined with close relationships to manufacturers and craftspeople to incorporate key aspects of function, distinctness and sustainability. Ultimately my designs often become an amalgamation of the latest technologies with traditional skill.
